Design studio Paradigm, in collaboration with the virtual platform Render Weekly, presents Warmer—a minimalist office mug warmer powered entirely by a tealight candle. Unlike electric warmers that require cables and outlets, Warmer relies on a small flame placed beneath a suspended aluminum cup, keeping beverages warm throughout the workday.

A deliberate gap separates the mug from the candle, ensuring the drink stays heated without direct flame contact. This distance allows the tealight to generate gentle, consistent warmth that prevents drinks from cooling too quickly, creating an analogue heating method suitable for offices, studios, or shared workspaces where electronics may be inconvenient.

Lightweight Aluminum and a U-Shaped Handle for Everyday Use

Warmer’s structure is composed entirely of aluminum, chosen for its fast and efficient heat conduction, low weight, and clean industrial aesthetic. This material selection ensures that the office mug warmer heats evenly while remaining easy to carry around a desk or workspace.

The cup features a U-shaped handle, improving grip and maneuverability while complementing the warmer’s geometric silhouette. A simple tealight candle tucked beneath the platform serves as the only heat source—making the system completely manual, cable-free, and resistant to wear associated with electronic components.

Although currently a concept, Paradigm envisions Warmer as a flexible platform rather than a single-purpose device. The office mug warmer could also support small bowls or containers, transforming it into a gentle food-warming tool for packed lunches or leftovers.

This means workers could place a small bowl of soup, rice, or prepared meals above the tealight candle and let it warm gradually over the morning. While not as fast as a microwave, Warmer offers a quiet, ambient, low-tech way to enjoy warm meals without relying on shared appliances—ideal for offices where microwaves are scarce, overused, or avoided.
